Oil, acrylics, paper, painted foam flowers, feathers, rhinestones, glitter, crepe paper, beads.
by KATE TOVA
This work was inspired by 1950’s Christian Dior fashion and Mardi Gras Indians ostrich feather costumes. The feathers on the pink top are made out of paper, painted with think applications of oil paint and decorated with beautiful rhinestones. Orchid and Plumeria flowers were hand made out of foam and painted with oil paint. White anemones were made out of crepe paper and the middle was decorated with large shiny glitter flakes. The black hat and the skirt of the woman shine in the light like a diamond dust.
