“Eve Glitch”

I am passionate about exploring the intersection of gender, desire, fear and individuality in my work. In this series I aim to create artworks that retell the story of Eve in a way that is empowering to women.

Throughout history, the biblical story of Adam and Eve has been used to justify the subjugation of women, casting Eve as a temptress and the root of all sin, ultimately responsible for the downfall of humanity. However, I believe that there is power in reclaiming this narrative and reimagining it as a story of empowerment and self-discovery.

By reinterpreting this ancient myth through a feminist lens, I hope to challenge conventional notions of gender roles and inspire women to reclaim their power and agency.

This year I began collecting the photo references and stories of women in San Francisco. The main composition will be painted on four 48” panels covered in religious books. One spread of the book will collectively depict the women and another the rewritten text about Adam & Eve. Over 100 books will be used.
